From Sunset to the Stars
From the Ranch Visit to the Giants’ Tomb (Tomba dei Giganti), and on to the sky above the Meadow of Dreams (Prato dei Sogni).
The journey begins at Carolina Ranch while the sky is still bright. We welcome you with a visit to the Ranch and its animals: time to settle in, get to know the place and let the rhythm of the evening carry you along.
After the visit, we set off on foot towards the Giants’ Tomb of Su Niu e Su Crobu with Lisa Mura, a tourist guide with Aguadora Experience. Through landscapes, anecdotes, old customs and the stories of those who lived here before us, the walk becomes an encounter with the memory of Sant’Antioco.

Once we reach the Nuragic site, Lisa introduces us to its history. Here we meet astrophysicist Manuel Floris, scientific director of the L’Unione Sarda Planetarium in Cagliari. As the sun sets over the sea on the horizon, Manuel tells us about the Tomb’s alignment and its link with the stars and celestial bodies. Before those ancient stones, thousands of years old, the landscape and the sky become part of the same story.
Back at the Ranch, live music and good company await, with the chance to enjoy the food chosen for the evening. Meanwhile the light changes, the first stars come out and we get ready to look even further.
Then the lights go out. And the journey into the sky begins.
On the Meadow of Dreams, stretched out on our blankets, we follow Manuel’s voice and his astronomy laser. Constellations take shape, we learn to find our way around the sky and discover just how much there is to see above us. No knowledge of astronomy is needed: the explanations are designed to engage adults and children alike, leaving plenty of room for questions and curiosity.
The experience continues at the professional telescopes, through which we observe the celestial objects visible that night. Every evening brings something different to discover, depending on the season and the sky conditions.
Mirto (Sardinian myrtle liqueur) and Sardinian sweets see us off at the end of the night. Before leaving, you’ll want to look up just one more time.
