International Observe the Moon Night

🌕 YOU’VE LOOKED AT IT ALL YOUR LIFE. BUT HAVE YOU EVER REALLY SEEN IT?

On Saturday 19 September Carolina Ranch takes part in International Observe the Moon Night 2026, the worldwide event dedicated to observing the Moon, promoted by NASA.

Together with thousands of people all over the world, we will look up at the same sky, only we will do it surrounded by the nature of the Ranch, on an evening that brings together astronomy, archaeology, music and local flavours.

🌆 Sunset at the Giants’ Tomb

We set off on a walk to the Giants’ Tomb (Tomba dei Giganti) of Niu de su Crobu with astrophysicist Manuel Floris and tourist guide Lisa Mura, sharing history, myths and stories as we wait for the sunset together.

🍽️ Dinner and live music

Back at the Ranch you can stay for dinner, choosing between a pizza menu, a tasting of traditional Sardinian produce and a barbecue menu, while live music from maestro Federico Dessì carries us into the night. Dinner is optional: if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own food from home.

🔭 Then we switch off the lights

With Manuel Floris and the powerful telescopes of the L’Unione Sarda Planetarium we will observe the Moon up close, with its craters, seas and mountains, explore the sky and turn the telescopes towards Saturn.

And before we say goodnight, there will be mirto and Sardinian sweets for everyone, plus the chance to photograph the Moon through the telescope with your own smartphone.

Adults (ages 14+) €35 · Young people aged 7–13 €20 · Children aged 0–6 FREE

The ticket includes a visit to the Ranch and its animals, the guided visit to the Giants’ Tomb, live music, stargazing with the astrophysicist and the telescopes, mirto and Sardinian sweets.
